NC is located at the foothills of the Blue Ridge
Mountains which allows for some pretty
spectacular views from the areas numerous golf
courses. There are several public courses that
are designed for golfers of any skill or
expertise. From the beginner to the more
experienced golfers, Lenoir golf courses have
all that you need to improve your game. Lenoir
golf courses have driving ranges, putting
greens, professional instructors and more to
help your scores on the links, and because of
the mild climate of Lenoir many courses allow
year round play.
Lenoir Golf Club is one of the more popular
courses in the area. This North Carolina
mountain golf course was founded in 1929 as a
semi-private course and has continued to develop
its recognition as the premier Lenoir golf
course. Lenoir Golf Club is an 18 hole golf
course that is 6,385 yards long with a par of
71. From well groomed fairways and putting
greens to mountain views, challenging sand
bunkers and ponds, Lenoir Golf Club is sure to
give even the most experienced golfer a
challenge.
Rock Barn Golf and Spa in Conover has two
different courses, the Robert Trent Jones, Jr.
Course and the Tom Jackson Course. Each has its
own unique characteristics, and the Jones layout
is the more challenging of the two courses.
Since it opened in 2002 the Jones course has
been named America’s 4th best course in it’s
category by Golf Digest. This golf course in
North Carolina is an annual
stop for the PGA Tour’s Champions Tour event,
the Greater Hickory Classic.
Cedar Rock Country Club is located about 1 mile
from Piper Ridge. Their private 18 hole course
features 7,106 yards of fairway from the longest
tees for a par of 72. The course has a rating of
74.8 and a slope rating of 137 on beautiful
Bermuda grass. The Championship course has been
in operation since 1965 and has the largest
putting greens in the Carolinas along with a
chipping green and a 300 yard driving range.
